Registration Decals
Ontario Winter-Rated.
The Motorized Snow Vehicles Act R.S.O. 1990 (c. M.44) requires snowmobiles operated in Ontario to display permit registration numbers in a minimum height of 3.5 inches (89mm), in a contrasting colour, clearly legible at a distance. Standard vinyl fails in deep cold — compliance requires cold-rated materials.
Our powersports registration lettering uses premium cast vinyl cold-rated to -40°C — tested for cold crack resistance and adhesive performance in Canadian winter operating conditions. Produced to the exact size and font specifications required by Ontario regulation.

Powersports FAQ
What are the snowmobile registration number requirements in Ontario?
Under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act R.S.O. 1990 c. M.44, all registered snowmobiles in Ontario must display their permit registration number on the vehicle. Numbers must be a minimum of 3.5 inches (89mm) in height, in a contrasting colour to the snowmobile's surface, and clearly legible. Our vinyl is rated for -40°C cold crack resistance — essential for Ontario winter conditions.
What material handles Ontario snowmobile winters?
Standard vinyl fails in extreme cold — it becomes brittle and cracks. We use premium cold-rated cast vinyl specifically tested to -40°C without cold crack or adhesive failure. This is the minimum standard for any snowmobile-mounted decal in a Canadian climate.
Do ATVs need registration lettering in Ontario?
Ontario ATV registration requirements vary by riding location. ATVs operated on Crown land and many trails must display registration numbers. Municipal bylaw requirements vary. Contact us for province-specific and trail-specific compliance guidance.
